Location: Buttershaw office, Bradford / Hybrid Working
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Project Manager to join the Strategy & Regulation team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

This role will be accountable for planning and managing the delivery of regulatory and legislative projects. Having a good awareness of the regulatory and legislative framework generally, and the ability to understand the relevant part of the framework or the law specifically to be able to articulate the purpose to others and secure a successful outcome. The Regulatory Project Manager may also take the technical lead or become the subject matter expert on activities to implement or embed new regulatory concepts.
Where you fit in:
As our Regulatory Project Manager you will
- Create and execute project work plans, revising as necessary to meet changing requirements.
- Prepares high-level business cases, recognizing costs and benefits to support project sponsors.
- Manages resources in collaboration with functional managers, sponsors, and sub-contractors.
- Leads, scopes, and manages projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Produces high-quality reports on ROI, risk, business case, and implementation plans.
- Promotes new ideas and drives project opportunities through collaboration with partners, contractors, and suppliers.
- Manages stakeholders and ensures effective communication plans are in place.
- Represents the organization with regulators, coordinates regulatory submissions, and provides regulatory analysis and support.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Experience of managing full life cycle projects
- Project management qualifications or similar e.g. Prince2 and APM.
- Experience of managing and leading a project team with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets.
- Experience of business planning, resource and budget management.
- Experience of strategic thinking, establishing clear strategic direction and implementing plans to deliver.
- Experience of leading and embedding change, able to influence and drive right culture and behaviours.
- Experience of compiling, assessing, interpretation and communication of data and information, including the ability to clearly present key items and risks at all levels.
- Good communication skills, able to communicate across the business and at all levels.
- Influences and leads appropriately.
- Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships.
You will also benefit from having:
- Knowledge of the Regulatory framework and legislation relevant to the Water Industry.
- Previous experience gained within the water or wastewater sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
- Experience in a commercially orientated environment, in strategic leadership and / or an operational role.
- Experience of enabling and embedding change, able to influence and drive right culture and behaviours
